The Custom Baby Gift

Dear Friend,

This is the story of The Angel and The Telescope. I know it will touch you in the same way everyone who reads it is touched. This is the story that spread across the internet like wildfire because the story is so perfect for parents to be and their babies.

If you have spent any time at all searching around the internet for the perfect customized baby gift, you know as well as I, that there are hundreds if not thousands of items to choose from. And many of them are really sweet and in some cases truly beautiful.

But very few, if any of them are personalized or customized in any way except with the baby's name or initials. I have never found a unique baby gift that was customized to show the beautiful and perfect nature of the precious relationship between the baby and the mother and the father.

When our son and his wife found out she was going to have a baby, I wanted a gift that was truly precious, truly unique and emphasized how perfect they were going to be as parents.

I was talking about this with my husband Michael one night after spending another 5 fruitless hours searching the internet for the perfect custom baby gift, and he told me he could probably help me out with obtaining the perfect gift for our son, daughter in law and their new baby.

What Michael did next was nothing short of incredible. It was one of those inspired ideas that comes along every once in a while at the perfect time and place.

He wrote a story called The Angel and The Telescope

The story is about an angel waiting to be born who is using a telescope to look for the perfect set of parents to have for parents.

And then my husband put together the perfect piece of art to display this beautiful story on. The combination of the story and the artwork is breathtaking. OK, I admit here I might be a little bit prejudiced, but the truth is, almost nobody finishes reading this story without crying. Some people never even get past the first paragraph before tears start streaming down their faces.

Long story short, we presented this gift to our children for Christmas and in 15 short seconds, everyone in the room started to tear up. It was the most amazing and touching scene I have ever witnessed. That moment was one of the most truly beautiful events of my life.

And a short while later, a most amazing thing happened

I was talking on the phone with Bea, my roommate from school, and she told me that her sister, Kriszta was going to have a baby and that she was having a very difficult time finding the prefect baby shower gift.

Poof, that little lightbulb went on in my head and I told her I knew the perfect gift for her sister. When I hung up the phone I immediately asked my husband if he could create another Angel and the Telescope story for Kriszta and her husband Peter.

He did exactly that. He customized the story with Kriszta and Peter's names. I sent the story to Bea to give to her sister and this is the note I got back from her.

Funny how the world works sometimes. Here's what I mean.
